Happiness in Giving
Children showed more happiness when giving treats to a puppet than when receiving treats themselves. Interestingly, children were even happier when giving away a treat that belonged to them compared to giving away an identical treat that didn't belong to them. This suggests that even very young children may experience positive emotions when giving, especially when it involves a sense of self-sacrifice.
