It's not just about giving money, but having a change of heart and becoming like Christ, who is openly generous. King Benjamin's example in Mosiah 4 emphasizes the natural outreach to help the beggar. Paul encourages that if Christ has truly transformed you, you will automatically reach out and help, even if you try to convince yourself otherwise.
