Pints With Aquinas

NOTE

Acknowledge the Hunger Within

True spiritual growth begins by recognizing and confronting the inner ache or hunger for meaning. Many who are lost in their passions still have an awareness of this hunger, albeit misguidedly directed. This awareness often leads those who struggle, such as sinners and outcasts, to seek Jesus for fulfillment. In contrast, the self-righteous Pharisees, who adhere rigidly to religious rules and maintain a facade of piety, risk being blind to their inner turmoil. Jesus's critique of them underscores the danger of merely presenting a 'good' exterior while neglecting the messiness of true inner life. The challenge lies in the courage to confront personal struggles instead of hiding behind religious pretense.
