Gender Expression and Biological Sex
Gender expression is not determined solely by biological sex; it is a continuum that reflects how one identifies culturally and socially. In sexually reproducing species, including humans, there are only two sexes based on the type of gametes produced: male (sperm-producing) and female (egg-producing). Intersex individuals exist but do not change the binary nature of biological sex. Gender expression is a separate concept from biological sex and encompasses a spectrum of identities beyond the traditional male-female classification.
