NOTE

Block Chain - A Data Base?

A blockchain is essentially a distributed, global, and decentralized database that functions as an append-only ledger. Unlike traditional databases, entries in a blockchain cannot be removed; instead, new entries can be added to reverse previous ones. The blockchain is hosted by numerous computers worldwide, forming a peer-to-peer network without a central server or entity in control. This unique structure allows for trust among users interacting with the database contents, even without knowing or trusting the other participants. The blockchain concept represents a groundbreaking way to establish ownership of digital assets, such as songs or images, which are essentially collections of ones and zeros that can be easily duplicated. Despite past failed attempts to safeguard digital assets with encryption methods, the blockchain offers a pioneering solution by ensuring ownership without the risk of duplication.
