The Fallacy of Being a Powerful Insider

Behavioral science research shows that the belief of knowing everything as a powerful insider in an organization is a fallacy. Leadership privilege can lead to a sense of obliviousness and disconnection from the actual happenings within the organization, despite the little privileges or extreme benefits such as private parking spaces and elevators. It's best for leaders to start with the assumption that they may not fully know what's going on within their organization.
