Faith Matters

NOTE

The Rabbinic Tradition of the Creation of Eve

The Rabbinic tradition tells a story of the creation of Eve where the first being was initially a single being with two faces unable to turn towards each other. The rabbis suggest this being was eventually split into Adam and Eve to find each other. When darkness falls for the first time, Adam fears the end of the world, but Eve sits with him through the night, weeping together, showing the importance of having someone to share grief and discomfort with without trying to fix things, but providing love and care until a new dawn arrives.
