The Dominance of the US Economy in World War II
In World War II, the United States' economy was so dominant that once it entered the war, there was no contest with any other economies. The decision to declare war on the United States was viewed as a great blunder with no need for it. Throughout the war, key decisions had significant consequences, but it was still challenging to imagine a different outcome once the US was fully engaged. Various strategy games testing different decisions in World War II scenarios consistently show that it was exceedingly difficult for the Axis powers to win, except for rare scenarios.
