Evolution of Describing Minds: From Ancient Egypt to the Dark Ages

In ancient times, people explained things with gods or magic. Over time, we improved at describing the extrinsic world through science. But we also developed a better understanding of the intrinsic world, including our own minds and emotions. Ancient texts lacked descriptions of minds, but during ancient Greece, writers became adept at depicting them. However, after the fall of the Roman Empire, there was a decline in discussing minds. It was challenging to find texts during the Dark Ages that talked about minds. Eventually, during the Enlightenment, we regained the ability to discuss minds, which was unexpected.
