Future Loss vs. Prospective Pleasure

Our brain is wired in a way that it can experience the pain of a future loss in the present moment, leading to paralysis in decision-making. However, the excitement or pleasure from a future accomplishment does not trigger the dopamine system immediately. This imbalance between experiencing future loss and prospective pleasure often leaves us stuck, unable to make choices due to the overwhelming pain of imagined losses.
