Trends in Long-Term Incentive Plans

Nearly all of the surveyed companies use performance-based awards in their long-term incentive plans, and this trend has remained consistent since 2018. There has been an increase in the use of restricted stock and RSUs, along with a decrease in the use of stock options. The prevalence of stock options has decreased from around 60% in 2018 to just over half of the companies currently using them.
