NOTE

Cold and Sunlight for Melanin Production

Cold temperatures help to keep or make melanin inside, while sunlight helps to make melanin outside on the skin. Cold exposure, even in winter, can help maintain a tan and melanin production without the need for high UV exposure. This was observed when a person maintained a tan in winter by going out into the cold multiple times a day, despite low UVB levels. The combination of cold exposure and sunlight can stimulate melanin production, providing a natural way to maintain a tan.
