Variability in Organ Transplant Centers

If a person is unable to convince their family members to donate their organs, they will be taken to one of the 56 transplant centers across the country. However, the performance of these centers varies greatly, leading to a significant number of organs going unrecovered. For instance, the Arkansas OPO had a poor record of answering phone calls outside of regular work hours, resulting in missed donation opportunities.
