Some people argue that mental imagery and imagination are essential for communication and understanding. They suggest that even if we don't visualize things like a HD television in our minds, we still have an inner experience that allows us to comprehend and convey information. They believe that the idea of 'Aphantasia', the inability to visualize, is a thought virus created by people who haven't fully explored the concept of mental imagery. They argue that since we can exchange thoughts and memories, we must have a common understanding of imagination. This idea is similar to why people believe in personality tests without scientific evidence.
