The Mysterious Idea of Tao in Chinese Dao Philosophy
The Tao is a mysterious concept that is not equivalent to any Western or Hindu idea of God. In Chinese philosophy, the Tao is not separate from nature or ourselves, but rather, it is the way everything behaves. It is like water, always seeking the low level that humans dislike. Unlike Western and Hindu ideas of God, there is no association with being a lord or ruler in Taoism.
