The Impact of Summer Schools on Students' Enthusiasm and Cultural Norms
We ran summer schools as experiments to give students a chance to study forbidden courses. The enthusiasm of the students was overwhelming. It's hard for us to understand the pressures they face, but when we assure them that they won't be denounced, they embrace uninhibited discussion. Cultural norms can change if we provide the right framework and incentives.
