How Do They Fit Into the Storage Mental Model of Our Customers?
Customers have a diverse range of storage needs from fast access data to very long-term cold and archive storage. Glacier fits into the archive part of S3 object storage and offers three storage classes: Glacier Instant Retrieval for immediate data access, Glacier Flexible Retrieval for data that is less frequently accessed but requires a lower price point and bulk retrieval options. Glacier Deep Archive is the lowest cost storage offering for long-term archiving and digital preservation. S3 Intelligent Tiering provides various storage capabilities including archive features to cater to customer storage needs.
