With technology like ATM machines, which are secure and affordable, why can't we apply similar principles to our elections? We could have a second chance to vote when we realize the public is about to make a ridiculous decision. This could be done through approval voting or instant runoff systems, where we rank candidates based on preference until we find the one who is least offensive or most suitable to the majority of people.
