The Never Ending Now Is Problematic
The continuous cycle of consuming only present information is problematic, as it limits exposure to valuable older insights. A disproportionate value is often ascribed to the age of articles, with older content considered more impactful due to its endurance over time, exemplified by the Lindy effect. The proposed solution is to create a comprehensive database comprising tens of thousands of articles from the past 50 years, searchable by keyword, to facilitate access to timeless ideas. This initiative aims to shift focus from the latest content to time-tested knowledge, leveraging the internet's capacity for perfect memory to democratize access to valuable literature, ultimately enhancing the quality of information consumption and moving beyond the constraints of current trends.
