Productive Work Happens Away from the Computer

The majority of writing work doesn't occur at the computer but during activities like walking or running. These moments of mental engagement lead to productive thoughts, while the time on the computer is spent digesting these ideas. Even though sitting down to produce work is necessary, the most effective work often happens during seemingly non-work activities. As the economy shifts towards knowledge work, it is important to appreciate that productive work may appear unproductive. Just as in investment, where luck plays a role, judging someone by their process rather than just the outcome is crucial. Good work may sometimes appear contrary to traditional notions of productivity.
