The Role of Charity and Effective Altruism in Making a Better World
Charity is like an investment without expecting a return, but it's also a way to allocate resources for a better world. Starting a company is often more efficient than just spending money on specific things like malaria nets. Effective accelerationism, like making food cheap, has lifted people out of poverty. Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a scary idea because it would mean relying on the government for power. Instead of UBI, we should focus on making housing and food dirt cheap for a better world.
