Why Humans Have a Low State of Consciousness

Humans have a relatively low state of consciousness because being human entails perceiving, experiencing the world, having relationships, caring about various things, and engaging in human activities. A higher state of consciousness could transcend human concerns and render activities and emotions irrelevant. This lower consciousness allows humans to care about family, work, pleasure, pain, and basic human needs.
