Apple Intelligence uses new generative models like diffusion models and large language models to perform tasks locally on devices, distinguishing itself from conventional AI. Apple primarily uses its own built models trained on publicly available information, licensed data, and free web resources. While smaller tasks are handled offline, larger or complex requests are processed on Apple's servers. For queries beyond its training, Apple may ask permission to use external models like chat GPT. Users can approve such requests without needing an account, offering flexibility in utilizing different models for specific tasks.
This week was WWDC, and the podcast crew has some thoughts! Marques chats with Andrew and David about everything from Apple Intelligence to the new iPad calculator app. There's so much to get into so we hope you enjoy!
