Exploring the CV and Age Program for Refugees from Specific Countries
A new program, the CV and age program, allows 30,000 Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and Haitians to find a US sponsor and enter the United States after vetting. This program is considered the largest immigration liberalization since 1965 and aims to reduce the number of people from these countries arriving at the southern border. Initially successful, the program has resulted in a backlog of about a million people due to the current chaos in Venezuela under a socialist dictatorship.
