The challenges of cost reduction and personnel overlap in large companies
Being disciplined and making decisions within a large company can be challenging. Trying to reduce costs by reducing personnel overlap often fails due to the disadvantages of being in a large organization. The analysis of potential savings is not enough. Instead, it is important to focus on finding new sources of revenue, as they have unlimited potential. Additionally, it is favorable if the cost associated with generating that revenue is low. An example is Disney's successful acquisitions of companies like Lucasfilm, Cameron's studio, and Marvel.
