Exploring the History of a Westerner in a Mushroom Ceremony

In 1955, a Westerner named Wausen became the first known Westerner to partake in a mushroom ceremony in Oaxaca. Notably, during his first ceremony, he was not invited to consume the sacred mushrooms but instead observed the shaman performing. Surprisingly, the shaman made an incorrect prediction during the ceremony, leaving Wausen astonished. This historical event is documented in a book called 'Schroom' by Andy Letcher.
