By reimagining education, young people can acquire critical reading, inquiry, clear expression, persuasive communication, and solution design skills. These skills, currently categorized into disciplines, can be perceived as crucial transferable skills applicable in various contexts, not just restricted to academic or lifelong learning but also pivotal for future work and communal living. Existing academic standards are seen as incomplete as they do not address essential aspects like supporting well-being, collaboration skills, conflict resolution, and community building. Thus, the proposed future nine competencies aim to encompass these unmet needs by preparing learners to navigate conflict, sustain wellness, and foster community relationships.
