Chasing Consciousness

NOTE

Definition of Consciousness and Learning Theory in Physics

Consciousness can be defined as the efficiency of learning within the concept of a learning theory of neural network. According to this definition, everything, including inanimate objects, possesses a degree of consciousness based on its ability to learn and adapt to its environment. This definition allows for comparisons between different systems, enabling the concept of a 'consciousness meter' to measure the level of consciousness in various subsystems, organisms, and even the universe as a whole. It is proposed that organisms have a larger consciousness than individual cells, as they can utilize the learning efficiency of their constituent parts to become better learners. The universe as a whole is considered to have a 'super consciousness' due to the collective learning efficiency of all its parts. This concept provides a framework for understanding consciousness in the context of physics, with the potential for further refinement and application in measuring and comparing consciousness across different systems.
