Understanding Communities and Communities of Practice

Communities can be local or larger, with the goal of working together towards a common objective. A community is like a neighborhood where people come together due to a common goal, while a community of practice revolves around sharing knowledge within a group. Technical communities or communities of practice can be global, local, or hyper-local, and can involve in-person meetups or virtual gatherings.
