Introduction of Spring Framework 6.1 REST Client and alternative recommendations

Spring Framework 6.1 introduced the REST client to replace the outdated REST template, which is now in maintenance mode. Although the new web client is mainly for reactive applications and has some drawbacks for non-reactive courses, an alternative recommendation is to use something like spring clouds open fame, which is similar to spring data and offers only the interface for use.
