*Compare Yourself to Who You Were Yesterday *
Comparing yourself to who you were yesterday is the most appropriate comparison group because your qualities, opportunities, and limitations are unique to you. Comparing yourself to others is not reasonable as you don't know their talents or opportunities. It is better to focus on becoming somewhat better than your previous self, as the answer is almost always yes. While setting high goals is good, it is not necessary to compare yourself to those targets.
