The key to making something go viral lies in the small difference between non-infectious and infectious content. If 10 people share an inspiring story with an average of nine others, the story fizzles out. However, if they share it with just 11 people, the story can go viral. A small increase in infectiousness can lead to a thousandfold difference in impact, making the content go viral.
