The Effects of Calmness and Stress on Learning and Memory

Chronic stress inhibits learning and memory and can also inhibit immune system function. Acute increases in adrenaline and cortisol can enhance learning and boost the immune system. To leverage information, it is important to be in a calm yet alert state that allows for high attention and focus. Remaining calm while learning and then spiking adrenaline afterwards can reduce the number of repetitions required to learn.
