NOTE

The Addiction of Looking More and More at Something

There is a desire to be captivated by something, to fall into it and experience a sense of vertigo as one delves deeper. The more one learns about a subject, the more aware they become of the vast amount of unknowns. This feeling of deep fascination and the inability to fully grasp the subject can be intoxicating and addicting. It stands in stark contrast to dissatisfying forms of addiction, such as those found in social media. Observing certain phenomena can lead to an opposite effect where the observer doesn't attempt to grasp it, and indeed, doesn't want to. This is exemplified by the author's fascination with crows, even after learning about their intelligence and capabilities in 2016.
