Recognizing God as the Creator and Provider instills a sense of gratitude for all elements of life, from our very existence to the basic necessities that sustain us. God generously provides for our needs—body, soul, and daily sustenance—out of divine goodness and mercy, independent of any merit on our part. This understanding challenges the common notion of self-sufficiency, often reflected in an ingrained arrogance that suggests we can earn our own daily bread. Such attitudes inadvertently minimize the essence of grace afforded by God in our daily lives. It's important to acknowledge the gifts of common grace, as neglecting them fosters a false sense of independence from divine support. Rejecting both the heresy of Pelagianism—the belief that salvation can be achieved without grace—and the notion that we don’t need God's help in our daily provision leads to deeper appreciation for the multitude of blessings that surround us, often taken for granted.
