The Meaning of Economic Growth and its Place in Politics
In the aftermath of post-trust politics, economic growth is no longer the top priority. Financial stability, economic competence, balancing the books, and defeating inflation are now higher on the agenda. The idea of growth for growth's sake is compared to the ideology of the cancer cell. There are some economists who suggest shrinking the economy instead of only expanding it due to climate change. They argue that the entire construct of economics should be rethought under this banner.
