The Uniqueness of Human Consciousness
The uniqueness of human consciousness lies in our awareness of aging, which can haunt us and make us question the fairness of the universe. The presence of consciousness in humans raises questions about why no other species possess it, leading some to attribute consciousness to the universe. This attribution is driven by the need to explain our consciousness if the universe lacks it. Human consciousness elevates us above nature, as nature lacks self-awareness and does not comprehend its own finality. Unlike natural phenomena like supernovas, humans have the ability to contemplate their existence and mortality. This heightened consciousness can lead to the belief that humans have surpassed the creator of the universe in terms of consciousness.
