Independence Breeds Happiness
Children can handle more independence than they currently receive, and a significant amount of parental supervision is unnecessary. Allowing children to engage in activities they enjoy promotes relaxation for parents and positively impacts the family dynamic. Many children report that their primary complaint is not a lack of time with parents, but rather the parent's stress levels and temper. By alleviating their own stress and allowing themselves to unwind, parents can improve their emotional state and foster a better relationship with their children. Recognizing that engaging in undesired activities when fatigued can lead to short tempers will help enhance parenting practices.
