Fugaku: The World's Fastest Computer
The Fugaku supercomputer, developed by Fujitsu and housed in Kobe, Japan, won the title of the world's fastest computer in a competition last year and has maintained its lead ever since, marking the first win by a computer based outside the US and China in nearly a decade. Fugaku is a massive system that operates at around 415 petaflops, equating to 415 quadrillion computations per second. It took six years to develop and cost approximately one billion dollars to create.
