Peri-Intubation Hypoxia Compared in RSI and DSI Groups
In this study, patients were given pre-oxygenation and then received IV succesimethonium and intubation. The intubations were performed by a second-year postgraduate anesthetic resident. Most patients had head injuries from polytrauma, with RTCs being the most common cause. The incidence of hypoxia was significantly higher in the rapid sequence induction group.
