Famine as a Logistical Issue
Wars throughout history have been deemed unethical, but statesmen have pursued them nonetheless, often defensively. Famine is now viewed as a logistical problem due to advancements like fossil fuels and artificial fertilizers, significantly reducing the occurrence of famines in modern times. China, despite importing food, produces over 90% of the wheat, rice, and corn it consumes. Even if the US were to stop exporting soybeans to China, it would not result in a collapse as it has sufficient internal production of wheat and rice to feed its population.
