Trust in AI companies globally has decreased from 61% to 53% in the past five years. In the US, the trust has dropped significantly from 50% to 35%. Democrats have slightly higher trust at 38%, while independents and Republicans have lower trust at 25% and 24% respectively. Additionally, trust in technology as an industry has declined by 40% in the past eight years, no longer being the most trusted in half of the countries surveyed by Edelman. The overall decline in trust goes beyond just AI, signaling a larger trend impacting various institutions and industries.
