The Fat Man Thin Man Example

On his first day in the military, Netanyahu participated in a race called the elephant race, where he had to carry a man on his shoulders. This experience inspired him to compare the private and public sectors of national economies to a fat man and a thin man. He believed that a strict diet for the fat man (reducing government budgets) and giving more oxygen to the thin man (lowering taxes) would lead to economic growth. However, he acknowledged that there were barriers to competition that needed to be addressed, such as excessive regulation. Despite facing criticism and political setbacks, Netanyahu's reforms ultimately improved the economy and he was reelected.
