The Relationship Between Grades and Success in Education
Football and education have something in common: the need to adjust one factor by another. In education, knowing the difficulty of a major can give context to grades. A study found that freshman grades don't predict future success as much as improvement between freshman and senior year. This exposes a problem in our thinking about student potential and college admissions, where grade point average is often relied upon.
