NOTE

From Labor to Automation: The Evolution of Production Efficiency

The evolution of manufacturing technology has dramatically decreased the cost and labor needed for production across various industries. Historical examples illustrate this shift, such as the cost of mass-producing automobiles, which fell from $12,000 to about $200 over two decades. Similarly, the labor required to produce bronze artifacts, like swords, has plummeted from 20 to 100 days to just three hours in today's economy. Textiles also showcase this transformation; garments that once required 3,000 hours of labor can now be acquired for less than the price of a cheeseburger. Although modern products may lack durability compared to traditional items, the efficiency of contemporary industrial processes allows for mass production and accessibility that was previously unimaginable.
