NOTE

Developers, Calendaring Tools, and the Problem with CDPs

Developers are a key audience for dev tools, as they want to try it hands-free. Building products to support this is a good infrastructure idea. Having an empowered buyer who can make purchasing decisions is important. Tools that naturally spread within organizations, like task management and collaboration tools, are successful freemium businesses. Calendaring is an underrated category, with a need for a solution that allows multiple calendars to be managed and shared. The CDP space is overrated, as companies often only need specific components. Color-coding calendars and implementing conditionals for scheduling would be valuable. Tools like Cal.com and Calendar Bridge are attempts to solve these issues. Building new calendars is difficult as they must integrate with existing platforms like Gmail or Outlook.
