NOTE

Diet Composition and Weight Gain in Animals

Different diets can have varying thermogenic and regulatory effects on appetite. This has been observed in animal models through experiments involving changes in diet composition, such as carb and fat quality, and even calorie intake. In fact, animals can gain fat independently from calorie intake, which was proven in experiments where animals consumed the same calories but gained weight due to the change in diet composition. For instance, a shift to a high-fructose diet caused animals to fuel partition differently, resulting in weight gain over nine months. It's important to note that rodents have a more flexible energy expenditure than humans.
