The Role of Christian Missionaries in Colonial Governments
Christian missionaries in the colonies often lobbied the imperial government, causing headaches for colonial governments. They were critical and humanitarian, not forcing Christianity on natives. However, there were instances of cultural racism and missionary zeal. Despite this, many native people found Christianity appealing, especially in Africa where the message of equality and brotherhood resonated.
