Parents' Credit and Blame: A Delicate Balance
Parents often mistakenly take excessive credit for their children's successes and undue blame for their failures. It is crucial to maintain a separation between personal self-worth and children's behavior, as one's self-esteem should not hinge on how children act. This perspective echoes the understanding of divine worth; God's self-esteem is not linked to human behavior. Additionally, there are three fundamental institutions established by God for human flourishing: the family unit, which emphasizes the union of a husband and wife, and the concept of procreation, followed by the establishment of government. Recognizing these institutions is essential for cultivating a supportive environment for growth and development.
