Creativity is essential in problem-solving to avoid the trap of appearing scientifically rigorous without exploring the solution space creatively. Abductive inference or hypothesis, reasoning backward from observed outcomes to initial conditions, is crucial for effective problem-solving. The abundance of data can create a false sense of having all the answers when, in reality, data can be manipulated to argue conflicting viewpoints, known as Simpson's Paradox. Data, being retrospective, carries inherent bias towards past events rather than future possibilities.
